  • I've been in this village "almost deserted" with some friends and we really enjoyed walking among the ruins of this city ghosts ... we came up on top among the ruins of the Castle and the view is almost eccezionale...il home is the fact that Mr. Giorgio the voice of Hamlet with his workshop at the beginning of ascent of the country keeps alive this place with his sympathy and his stories ... will be back again in This magical place and out of time.

  • Leaving Reggio Calabria and heading towards the Ionian area grecanica, you reach Pentedattilo, a small village nestled in the mountains of Aspromonte and the Ionian coast. Pentedattilo takes its name from the shape of the rock on which it lies, similar to a giant stone hand (penta and daktylos meaning five fingers). The village was abandoned by its inhabitants and this is known as the ghost town more evocative of the Calabrian coast. Reached the Hill after a hairpin you open a balcony that provides a breathtaking view overlooking the village that when viewed from a distance, looks like almost a crib carved into the rock. Along the only road that runs through it, you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of Pentedattilo. Walking inside you feel a peace especially, breathes the veil of mystery that has him tied for some time now to legends of ghosts and stories of love betrayed where time seems to stand still. You will come across small old houses replace adorned by prickly pears burnt by the Sun that have become widespread hospitality accommodations, home to artisans, or convenience stores, passing from the parish church of Saints Peter and Paul, really very beautiful and also partially recovered for a few years, with its ancient Bell Tower, and the Church of Candlemas. Pentedattilo besides give a rare scenic beauty has a lot to offer as a place of cultural and sustainable hospitality. In beautiful scenery, perfect fruit of architecture and theater of mother nature.

  • On April 29 they have a Festival of the Madonna!
  • Fascinating place from which you can admire a beautiful view. Perched on the mountain there's this ghost town, Pentedattilo meaning five fingers, which is a fascinating place and full of mystery. It was the massacre of the alberti.

  • A fantastic place. 2012 was just started to renovate the first houses of the one abandoned village. Very nice location.

  • A gem amongst the mountains. One of those hidden paradises that we have in Italy. Well worth a visit!

  • Awesome place to watch at least once if you are in the area. I was lucky enough to stay 4 days at the home of a friend.
