  • Besides being a remarkable place of faith is also an historical and artistic attraction: the building dates back to Norman times and is characterized by the imposing facade of yellow stone that adorns the piazza della Repubblica. The three-nave Interior has interesting works apart from the frescoed ceiling.

  • We visited the Cathedral of Mazara twice, one more impressive than the other. During the first visit we have focused on external architecture making the rounds complete around the building, on the other hand, the second time we dwelt within. Notable putties, two sculptures of Gagini and the side chapels. We were especially impressed the draperies of the apse that such a careful look proved stucco and silver altar cloths and not all chiseled by hand. On the left you can see archaeological remains. If you go in do not forget to visit the Cathedral although a slight downside are the ceiling frescoes which could do with a makeover.
