  • We have been in this store because the Guide at the end of the tour of the Sassi and we had a chance to sample some products for sale. It's a classic souvenir, priced accordingly to be local products.

  • Great products, after seeing some stones and listened to the Guide, we walked into this cosy and typical of the area. Products were exquisite, the only drawback we waited 10 minutes to get in under the Sun. All in all a good trip to Matera.

  • The only place to find true "niche product LUCANO" ... Enjoy a bruschetta with extra virgin olive oil from Basilicata was one of the most beautiful things of my sightseeing tour in Matera. Aromattizzati oils are also excellent. Five stars is not enough ...

Where to stay in Matera

Instead of booking your rooms at a conventional hotel in Matera, consider staying at one of the city's cave hotels. The rock settlements in this area are part of a World Heritage Site, and several local hotels offer lodgings at cave dwellings dug into the limestone rocks, complete with private bathrooms, satellite TV, air conditioning, and mini-bars. Alternatively, you can also stay at a small B&Bs or private inn in the old town, where you can explore most of Matera's main attractions on foot.
