A 2 hour private trip rather than for under guidance of Ele by the beautiful nature of Matera. I enjoyed; of the horses (which there good at!), the peace, the view and a friendly chat by Ele every now and then! I can recommend it to everyone!

  • We had a fantastic one hour trek around the olive groves and ranch. The horses are gorgeous, well-natured and kept in immaculate condition. There is a real sense of pride in what Eledorado provide for their guests and it doesn't break the bank. A selection of Italian snacks and drinks at the end of the trek were a nice touch. Wasn't too difficult to get to the ranch from Matera. We took a taxi from the city which, when split between 3 people, wasn't a problem. Go and give it a go!
  • A beautiful experience that with Emanuele and his very special horses in a natural blond like that around Matera between stretches of corn, canyon and dirt roads. It just feels like a postcard. What about the owner ... a safe ride and great charisma. A true expert in everything that has to do with the world of the horse. Book an excursion to Eledorado Ranch if you from parts of Matera and don't regret it.

Where to stay in Matera

Instead of booking your rooms at a conventional hotel in Matera, consider staying at one of the city's cave hotels. The rock settlements in this area are part of a World Heritage Site, and several local hotels offer lodgings at cave dwellings dug into the limestone rocks, complete with private bathrooms, satellite TV, air conditioning, and mini-bars. Alternatively, you can also stay at a small B&Bs or private inn in the old town, where you can explore most of Matera's main attractions on foot.
