  • If you like visiting churches when visiting a city, to understand people, its history and its myths, a ride in the Cathedral.

  • We were shocked at this Cathedral, welcoming and full of art indeed though small we were an hour!!! Completely immersed in the "rocks" is a beautiful gem in this lovely town!

  • Dominating the old Sassi quarter, the views from it are dazzling, and the architecture sublime.
  • The last time I visited was being restored but if you find yourself in Sydney you have to visit it by force! There is no place in Matera, Matera is magical and not see at least once in their life should be visited!

  • A harmonious marriage of Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque is what will surprise anyone who enters the Cathedral. Built in 1230, you leave Stratify from different periods and styles, from worship and domination until 2003 when it closed for renovations. Now it's finally reopened for worship but especially to lovers of beauty. Frescoes, decorations and so much aurea luce da dazzle the sight.
