  • An attractive castle and worth taking a few pictures but you can't go inside. If you didn't ask about it you probably would never see it  more »
  • The walk up to Castello Tramontano was uphill, a good hike. Because it was fenced off, you couldn't really get close to it, but none-the-less the only stone castle in Matera. I noticed that a newly bu...  more »
  • I documented on count Tramontano, Squire who then was killed by the people tired of his abuse and the castle that was getting erect. From a distance the round tower lets imagine the Majesty of the building but on the spot, weeds and unstable hurdles staying there to delimit the moat. Show not nice! Too bad! A wonder of the genre should be safeguarded and ... recovered!

  • Not the no. 1 spot in Matera for sure. But worth if you have seen most of the highlights already.
  • Castle itself is beautiful the dislike is all for the city of matera which has left the castle in the middle of an incomplete park with shameful facilities and degradation of the area
  • Shame to have such beautiful works and not be able to see and explore

  • The castle would be interesting if it were even possible to visit it. You might better manage also the panoramic view over the city of rocks.

  • Imposing building, overlooking matera. Not accessed within. The Park is poorly maintained
