  • Let me start by saying that I went with high expectations within a trip to Sicily one day I rented a car and I went on purpose to Marsala for visit the cantina De Bartoli. The cellar is perfect, the wines are delicious and all the work of the heirs of Dada is to be commended because it tends to excellence. That said, unfortunately I found the visit very formal and a little affetata, and tasting a bit frugal and more pressing than how I wanted.

  • We had the pleasure of being invited by son Sebastiano to visit De Bartoli estate and taste both wines from their Marsala and Pantelleria vinyard. Great estate, good explanation and excellent wines fr...  more »
  • I was with my friend and we both graduated sommelier. The visit is well worth it. The price is really low compared to the visit and the quality of the wines tasted. Cynthia was a great guide, prepared and enthusiastic, he illustrated well the whole cellar, vineyards and production in a linear narrative but rich in detail. I personally also took advantage to make purchases that can be conveniently shipped for the modest sum of about 10 euros but if you buy 3 cases the cost is outside so if you have friends who you can plan ahead group purchases. In the title I entered true because unfortunately I got to make other visits to the cellars in Marsala and honestly there is no comparison if you want to understand and study the philosophy of a company and what's behind a bottle of wine and a drink aware.

  • Lovely wines. I adore their Marsalas with a special weakness for their Vigna la Miccia. Their dad the eponymous Marco De Bartoli while I hadn't met him, had a fierce love for this land and its products. He also was reclaiming the glorious past and prestige of Marsala. I thank him for it. His children who run the winery, Renato, Sebastiano and Gippy are cordial, well informed and have the same love of place. They do tours by appointment and will ship the wine you select practically anywhere. Their Marsala Superiore Vecchio Samperi aged 10 years is an all meal wine, and they make flinty austere whites, a Grillo called Grappoli di Grillo and other wines that are just really good. A common place adjective but they are good, really good. Renato is the enologist. These are natural wines, they do not water so the vines have to reach deep into the ancient calcareous soil. This affects the grapes and the flavor and minerality of the wines. The care with which they harvest is just something to behold or hear about on a tour. There is another white I loved the Pietranera, a dry zibbibo. If ever there was a wine made to be drunk with shellfish and fish, especially boiled., this was it. I adore and adored it. I miss visting the Samperi facility I was quite the regular there and always hoped for an invitation to their winery on Pantelleria. #wine #craftsmanship #terroir #marsala #Trapani #Egadi #tradition #winemaking #luxury #prestige

  • Best winery tour of my life both for completeness, for the competence of Marilena, who for as long as it was dedicated. Last but not least, definitely the best Marsala I've tasted; ask to try the Virgin 88 reserve, with a small surcharge you'll return home with a great experience. Congratulations!
