  • The arrival in Marradi with the steam train from Pistoia and also active during the Chestnut Festival, 4 weekends in October, has a taste of days gone by, the same train that took even Dino Campana to descend to Florence to meet his beloved Sibilla Aleramo. The country at this time is focused on the main asset of the inhabitants, namely chestnuts or rather the "Browns". Stalls that sell them and where you can sample all the derivatives of this sweet product. But Madara is not just chestnuts, but history, hence the Gothic line during the last war, and facts to tell there are many. And then a visit to the theatre and the library, where a path made with passion reveals the history of that great and mysterious poet that was Dino Campana. Stories told with professionalism and love by the talented curator of the exhibition. Get down there one weekend during this period means getting a great trip on old faentina railway and return back in time. Highly recommended for all adults and children.
