Grotte di Frasassi, Marche

(4.6/5 based on 2,200+ reviews on the web)
Discover the remarkable scale of Grotte di Frasassi on a guided tour of one of the most extensive underground cave systems in Europe. Discovered in 1971 by a group of local speleologists, this network of caverns is known worldwide for its impressive array of stalactites and stalagmites spread along about 1,500 m (3,000 ft) of accessible passages. Guided tours can take you inside massive chambers up to 240 m (780 ft) in height, with a huge range of rock formations and pools located along the routes open to visitors. The largest cave in this system is also one of the largest in Europe, known to locals as the "Cave of the Wind." The caves are open all year long, but do visit the official website to explore all tour options and available activities before you make the trip. • site spectacular to do a ride with the family or friends. all refuse to take photos in the first area and all areas are not available all to make the visit.

  • Simply beautiful. Comprehensive guide and overly nice. The standard path just to get enchanted by the charms of the caves. Immaculately kept and good Fanny Pack accessible to families with children. I took my little dog (5 kg) but for her stay in the cage all the time was heavy. From!

  • Suggestive and fascinating how all the caves, great organization even in August with big crowds-with shuttle and free parking, worthy of a multinational company from 4 million less collection guides. Aside from a friendly enthusiastic ladies at the ticket office, the rest of the staff are really bored and lackluster compared with that of the caves of Toirano and bossea. Gaunt in involvement and laced explanations ... The thing that annoyed me is not being able to take pictures without flash, of course what can I seem to remember the caves of bossea, surely to earn more with the photo tour. On the site is not well specified the prohibition on making photos and I would have spared the unnecessary weight of 2 kg of my camera ... Return shuttle overcrowded, groups and too close together, price of admission for a family with two teenagers.

  • Amazing cave system but the ridiculous restrictions on photos are a joke. All types of photos are forbidden not just flash photography which would be expected. The restrictions are in place just to make you buy their photos which sucks.
  • Nice place to visit. Great management
  • A one-hour line for a ticket? I don't think so...
  • Great place...a must seen in the nearby!
  • Wonder land!!!!!
