Discover the remarkable scale of Grotte di Frasassi on a guided tour of one of the most extensive underground cave systems in Europe. Discovered in 1971 by a group of local speleologists, this network of caverns is known worldwide for its impressive array of stalactites and stalagmites spread along about 1,500 m (3,000 ft) of accessible passages. Guided tours can take you inside massive chambers up to 240 m (780 ft) in height, with a huge range of rock formations and pools located along the routes open to visitors. The largest cave in this system is also one of the largest in Europe, known to locals as the "Cave of the Wind." The caves are open all year long, but do visit the official website to explore all tour options and available activities before you make the trip. • Sometimes it's nice to stop and observe a glimpse that suddenly appears, take a road that takes you to the nature, pretend to get lost among the maples, beeches, chestnut trees, oak trees and other vegetation to find himself at the center of the world ... to the Frasassi caves. Park nearby in harmony with the surrounding environment, shuttle bus to the entrance. Ticket €15/groups € 12/entrance with the appointed time. Sensory experience on the first room called Del Gigante (200 m), harmonious and exciting the grotto of Candles, enchants and dream about the Niagara (whitest calcite casting). Day lived fully. Tip: temp. non-slip shoes bring Sweatshirt or jacket, low inner. In your heart .... give space to nature.
