  • Driving to Maratea can be seen high above the huge statue from far away on top of the mountain. One has the impression, the statue of Christ guard about the city or about the sailors on the sea, only later you realize that Christ actually looks inland and turning its back on so the city and the sea. The access road is a remarkable feat of building art with their coils mounted on supports. Once at the top, there is ample parking, a snack bar, souvenir shops. And - see here, quite unusual: no parking fees, no entry, no tour fee! The last 200 metres to the statue accessible only on foot. Up there you are rewarded with a fascinating view.

  • Hair raising journey up to the car park, then a steep walk to view this amazing statue, which whilst modern, still makes you gasp.  more »
  • The hike is worth it, I wasn't for many years, but the view is breathtaking. You can also visit the Church of San Biagio, which is located at the foot of the statue.

  • Beautiful statue overlooking the coastline. Easy to drive up, wander around, and a stunning view of the area. Highly recommended.
  • Great view, had to pay for parking about 3/4 way up the hill was only €3 an hour and then walk the rest or take one of the taxis to the top
  • Great views !
  • Impressive
  • Lovely vantage point ... a must see, beyond their personal religious creed. For the rest (usual for this type of attraction) everything is business: parking required. 1 km from Christ and shuttle service (almost mandatory) surcharge. Exorbitant prices of first, unjustified "fee" of the second (which at most should fall within the parking fees). Last but not least: ugly countless themed merchandising shops.
