  • Currently the Church of San Sebastiano-designed by Leon Battista Alberti-is no longer a place of worship, but it is still a place to visit, because it has become the Memorial for fallen mantovani for their country. In what was once the place dedicated to the cult include wood, beautiful and accurate models of many buildings designed by Leon Battista Alberti. Descending into the crypt, as well as many tiles with the names of those who died for Italy since the Risorgimento, you can see the posts to which they were hanged, by the Austrians, the Belfiore martyrs. The visit was quite short, because the guide left us just a quarter of an hour to turn the entire complex, providing only some basic explanations.

  • Beautiful church designed by Leon Battista Alberti, now Deconsecrated and turned into a Memorial Cenotaph for the fatherland and of martyrs killed by the Austrians during the Risorgimento. In the church there are wooden models of some of the finest achievements of Alberti, in the crypt, the names of the fallen reported on the pillars and the wood of the forks used for revolutionaries of the mid-19th century. Visit linked for free to the palazzo Te, you are accompanied by a guide.

  • This is the first commissioned by Alberti in Mantua. The work was started in 1460 and maintains much of the author's design. With centralized plant and white walls, as indicated by studies of Alberti, which seeks to link its present with the Roman antiquity. It is not open to the public continuously, we must go to the Office of tourism that taught without any problems.

  • Beautiful exercise in proportion and scale.
  • You only visit accompanied by a guide, the visit is included in the ticket of palazzo te. The Church is no longer consecrated but does from Memorial to the fallen of world wars. In the crypt are visible the original forks of the martyrs of beautiful flower and several tombstones of soldiers but there are no bodies.

  • It is open only during the tour; the price is included in the ticket for the Palazzo Te, Museum and Temple St Sebastian. The Interior is bare but enriched by wooden sections of the works of Alberti. The visit is short so if that matters to you, it's worth making us a jump.

  • The entrance ticket costs a dollar and a half, inside there are wooden models, but it's nothing special.
