  • Who wants to learn about the history and evolution of cutlery in Maniago can not fail to visit this museum. The Museum is housed in an old factory of the first dl ' 900, the Coricama, a real example of industrial archeology. In the path you are accompanied by staff who guide visitors and illustrate the historical passages, the products and the various types of production. The cost of access is modest, pennies. In the Museum there is also a corner to purchase books and products of cutlery in Maniago. For groups it is best to book your visit.

  • Opened in the late 1990s, this Museum, where you can trace the history of the blacksmith, is a little gem. The first part of the exhibition offers the reconstruction of blacksmith work environments, from antiquity to the present day, and is very interesting for children. The second part is more technical, focusing on raw materials and metal processing stages. The visit ends, finally, with a section dedicated to the ancient tradition of the Cutlers of Maniago cutlery factories.

  • The Museum is located inside the former spinning mill Cadel, built in 1922 and aims is the illustration of the systems to which you used in the past for machining steel in factories in Maniago, both the technological evolution that occurred over time within them. Through playing Smithies, of environments and workshops, the Museum wants to revive the visitor a technological reconstruction of the history of cutlery, linked through the centuries to the different energy supply. Originally, in fact, towards the middle of the fifteenth century, were the waterfalls (one is visible just behind the former textile mill) to produce the necessary energy to the work of the company; in the 18th century, however, more refined the technique to work, was the human energy to develop and disseminate in the country the production of cutting tools. In these shops you produce sharpeners, scissors, table knives, grafting, snap, multipurpose pocket and a wide range of surgical instruments. With the advent of electricity, becomes finally possible ganged machining by the use of specific machines (the workshop), greatly increasing the work capacity. The first factory (the Marx & c.) is built in Maniago in the years preceding the first world war. The Museum is divided into three sections that represent the significant moments in the history of the work of the Smiths:-the formation of the company; -training workshop, which starts in 18 ^ century inside of housing:-the establishment of the first workshops at the beginning of 1900
