  • I last visited Cascina Salazzara Sunday 24 at open farms. In the latter occasion no denying some delay in serving lunch but only because of the very high turnout. It is here that I want to linger: the high turnout. I attend the Salazzara for years and, for those who don't know her, I describe as heaven on Earth. A place of peace, serenity and total respect for nature and animals. Go to Salazzara means to completely remove your mind from stress and thoughts. Just take a seat on a bench in stone or on the grass, looking at the sky, listening to the silence from which is surrounded by if I was in another dimension. As far as the stall is characterized by an extreme attention and cleanup. Every four-legged guest has its own name and each species is described in detail by posters, some of them made with the children who attend. Its little guests there are numerous games that the managers put at their disposal more than willingly. As far as the structure is for everyone, but everyone. There are bathrooms for children, with changing tables and, no small feat, is guaranteed in every space access to persons with limited walking ability. I happened, in fact, on several occasions, to bring visiting boys with mental and physical disabilities and find a warm welcome as well as the total absence of architectural barriers (the upper salon can be accessed via an elevator very spacious that welcomes smoothly prams). As for Anne and Isabella what to say ... two people are rare, they did respect for nature, their reason for living. To visit absolutely!

  • We were visiting on the day open farms in Lombardy-September 2017. Great initial impression: very large farm, spacious indoor and outdoor areas, well kept and clean. Large function room and bed and breakfast, small shop with local products (particularly honey). Tables and playground available. No parking problems. At the event and being a group (6 adults and 1 child) had called a week in advance to make sure the visit and lunch. Upon arrival (around 10.30 hours) before perplexity: the owner explains that he received several calls of booking, not having marked names (so that booking is???) because for her general reference only. However we endeavour to give immediate confirmation of our presence for the guided visit to the stables and for lunch which consists for the event in platters of cold cuts and cheeses. Our order is 7 platters with 2 bottles of wine, full price for all, total 70 euros paid in cash and immediately. Note that only around the stables without lunch costs 2 euros per person while paying free lunch. The tour began shortly after it leaves us a bit as well. The tour of the stables is improvised upon by 2 different guides for the same group of participants. While one shows an animal, the more it shows another. General confusion, kids distracted and soon involved if not doling out a few leaves to animals. By telephone had been explained the event saying that for every animal would be chronicled the life, the day, the food they eat, etc ... to prepare the food to be distributed to children themselves (this is what one expects from a farm educational visits). None of that. The tour lasts one and a half hour. The farm also has a museum with farming tools but in the guided tour is not mentioned and the alternative remains to visit it for itself. Too bad. At around 12.30 we settle with a high proportion of other visitors to the assigned table. From here onwards Apocalypse rising. The first tables are served, just after the first protests, around 13. In the general chaos, clearly due to the inexperience of the improvised and lackluster staff, tables are served at random, without any order or arrival nor lay or other logical. A complaint is brought only a part, is owed that anyway does not reflect the amount due. Most of the many diners have more than one child who is forced to wait to eat for hours. And through it all, at some point, 1 attendant instead of hurrying to continue serving those who still haven't eaten, goes to the coffee machine pods and serves at the tables where lunch was ended???!! We receive an initial "trencher", and I apologize to the word "cutting board" that while there might be offended, to the child at around 14.30. 2 slices of salami, 2 slices of ham, 2 slices of cheese, bread, even the shadow, all served on a wooden trims ikea with plastic fork attachment. The remaining 6 "t" arrive after another half hour of waiting, one different from the other for content (who just sliced and no cheese, about a tortinetta with jam, about something about the other ...) along with a basket of bread with 6 pieces of bread for 7 people ... 2 times 2 is entitled to ask the wine bottles and only after we finished lunch, we were taken. We are speechless. Never been through such an experience. It was supposed to be a beautiful day on the farm, it was a nightmare. Here, in fact, could be a cue for "nightmarish 2017 Farms"! Needless to say, the owner, so kind and Nice in taking for the money in the morning, looked well from down in the midst of his guests, from asking at least apologize to everyone for what happened and, far from offering a trick or a cup of coffee. Education, this unknown!!! Obviously there will never go and make bad publicity with friends and family and all of you who read

  • I often find myself at cascina Salazzara and I think it's a beautiful place, a haven for humans and animals. I totally disagree with the comment of the visitor fabrizio7777 who writes that animals are confined in small boxes. The animals during visits or the presence of families remain safely inside their box (which are by no means small) but are then free to roam throughout the property when visits are completed or when there is too much confusion. Absolutely recommended for parties communions baptisms christenings birthdays, beautiful paths arranged (honey, cheese, bosco)!!
