Where to stay in Lucca

Explore northern Tuscany from a hotel or B&B located in Lucca's historical town center. The city's luxury lodging options offer free parking and access to outstanding downstairs eateries. To experience a little of that famous Tuscan countryside, consider booking your stay at a family-owned farm just outside Lucca. Though a bit far from the city's main attractions, small farms in the surrounding area offer inexpensive rooms, good food, and a chance to experience Tuscany's nature and local way of life.

  • Not really easy to get to, beautiful Romanesque survives only thanks to some volunteers who make themselves available for a visit to the treasures kept inside. Deserves a lot more attention from the Ministry of culture.

  • This Romanesque church is just beautiful! The Romanesque style is pristine in all its architectural and sculptural elements. Inside, apart from the ceiling trusses, columns, arches, partitions, typical of the Romanesque presbytery are sculptures of great value, like the 12th-century baptismal font and pulpit and the altar of the 11th century. Enrich scholarship Kit a glazed terracotta attributed to Andrea della Robbia and a crucifix from the 13th century. The atmosphere is very impressive. Unfortunately the Church is always closed and is vistiabile only by setting an appointment with one of the volunteers who lend themselves to lead the Church in the interest of the visitor and their communities. Their numbers are 349-6630107, 347-4796317, 328-5331903. Called because they are only too happy to show off their jewelry and sensitise tourists about this masterpiece otherwise closed to the public.

  • This ancient Church performed in the Romanesque style and produces a strong, even a powerful impression! The fact that she has not been on restoration is only for the benefit of, as the blows from her, I would say, real, original and nepriukrashennym Christianity! Very impressed!
