  • The large square in the Centre of the old town is a bit neglected, since he is pretty empty without flowers or plants there. Even prepared to host the meeting of the G7 Foreign Ministers he looked pretty empty and abandoned.

  • At noon is a sunny Esplanade and hard ... Preferably in the morning or evening. But it's where not apart; some explanatory panel on the history, on the way of the corner columns, on the origin of the trees that surround would be appropriate.

  • A beautiful square which is surrounded by wonderful architecture. Surrounded by cafes and bars. We were there in April and it was just pleasantly busy.  more »

  • Lucca is a lovely old style town that has a romantic feel to it as you walk down its narrow streets. The square is a lively place to stop for a drink or bite to eat. Many restraunts nearby just dont live up to their name serving very average dishes.
  • I'm probably being unfair in my review as I was in Lucca on a day when nothing special was going on. In general it's a fairly ordinary piazza so unless something is specifically happening it's not worth visiting. The cafes and gelato surrounding the piazza are average as well.
  • Lovely square which had a market on the day off our visit. Well worth a look.
  • Lucca is a cracking day out from Pisa by train, only takes 30mins a must see. Walk the back streets and the city walk very romantic place.
  • Piazza was taken up a massive stage and hoardings for the Lucca Summer Festival, so didn't get a chance to appreciate it in its full glory. But what I saw I liked.
