Museo Orto Botanico, Lucca

(3/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
When the city gets too noisy, head to Museo Orto Botanico and rest among the lush plants and quiet scenery. Established by the Duchess of Parma, Marie Louise, in 1820, the botanical gardens contain an extensive collection of plant species. Start by exploring the arboretum and pond (keep your eye out for the resident fish). When you're finished, move on to the second section to view the greenhouse, botanical schools, and laboratories. If you have time, stop at the botanical museum, Cesare Bicchi, to see the herbarium and archive. Plan your visit to Museo Orto Botanico and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Lucca travel itinerary maker.

  • Very cute place, to appreciate the nature, in Lucca, to escape a little of the cement and to take advantage of the air free.
