  • We really enjoyed the treasures in this museum which was made more understandable with a good audioguide. The 1st floor has some gorgeous illuminated manuscripts, a couple of which have the large prin...  more »
  • The Museum was set up in 1992 in a building complex consisting of a 13th century tower house, a 16th-century Church and a main body of 14th century origin. It houses the works of art that have been part of the furnishings of the Cathedral, the subject of numerous transformations over the centuries. The collection includes statues and stone artefacts, jewellery and vestments (chasubles, copes, stoles, gowns), chalices and candlesticks, paintings, codes and missals. Surveying a 6th century ivory diptych and a rare corpus of five choirs of 1300. Well known is also the so-called "cross of Pisa", made by the Goldsmith piacentino Vincenzo di Michele. Should visit it with a combined ticket that allows you to visit the Cathedral and the Church of San Giovanni
