  • Chapel and the baptistery of St. John and Reparty are in front of the Duomo. They are in the tourism competition with the Cathedral certainly lose, but take another-very comfortable and decorative outside thanks to the environment. Just a classic example of the provincial urban Idyll in Italian solar inks. Yes and age of this set is noticeably older than the Duomo (founded 5 centuries), although in the middle ages and especially in the Baroque period much was redone. I wonder what the complex was erected on the site of the Roman baths 1 century. It was opened after restoration and archaeological works conducted 25 years ago. But as a result of the restoration of "Salvation" Church was starved and empty. Lost atmosphere and soul. Even grizzled old ceiling looks svežerazukrašennym. 14-century frescoes erased from their sacred stories as unnecessary. Especially kills modern tiled floors as in stock. So for me the whole value of that object from the outside (except for picturesque places, for example, a chic medieval portico). Now in the building of the church service of worship, but secular service excellent (concerts) are held constant. Visit the excavation included in an integrated ticket to the Museum, and the Cathedral Bell-Tower (€ 7). Best regards, Oleg
