  • The Church of Santa Reparata, with the adjacent Baptistery dedicated to Saint John, is a Romanesque building dating from the second half of the 12th century. A vast archaeological area open to the public has brought to light the primitive system of the early Christian basilica of the 4th-5th century and the adjoining baptistery. In the basement of the Church, fully passable, among the many stories of five archaeological layers found there is a graffito that represents the episode of the transfer of the relics of Santa Reparata from Palestine in Benevento. Among the oldest finds recovered are of interest: a fragment of the paving of the Roman domus of the 1st century BC, remains of baths of the I-II century a.d., the Lombard burials and some vestiges of the medieval Baptistry and Carolingian crypt. The Church portal, with sculptures of the circle by Guidetto from Como, is one of the medieval remains (12th century-early 13TH) on 17th century façade made of late Renaissance forms on the initiative of the prior Caesar Turretin. The Church has three naves supported by columns with composite capitals.
