  • This marvelous basilica redefines the meaning of the expression "treated like a dog in the Church": we don't know whether the rule or if it was a fluke but we found that you can visit the basilica also accompanied by their dog, provided good and obedient (besides if you don't treat dogs well at least the Franciscans, it would be very sad).

  • Entrance is free of charge. But you can donate to the restoration of the Church. Inside the Church has been restored. It is a pity that at the entrance there are beggars.

  • One of the major goals that we had set for ourselves; When we entered we were speechless due to the fact that this enormous basilica had been recently restored. The internal aisles give majestic atmosphere, also given Renaissance style lombardo and Venetian influences that give the whole a Gothic touch. Inside, in addition, there are numerous works of artistic value and even a Nativity scene of mechanized of the XIX century. The Church was commissioned by the families of the village, which were strongly enriched with the famous cloth of Lovere. Its construction began after the second half of 1400. For construction was diverted the stream from which it takes its name from the Church in the Centre of the old riverbed. In the first decade of the 1500 was decided the Foundation of a friary, which already was served by the Church at least from the 1480s and an annex woolen mill for cloth production malema. The Church was finally consecrated in the first two decades of the 1500. Getting to Lovere and don't visit it would be mortal sin! The Interior is a single fresco. Spectacular!
