  • Should you decide to have a sea day in Livorno don't waste your money in this old shabby place crowded with thousand people huddled like animals on a sea of concrete. The water of the sea is also dirt...  more »
  • The noble loved bathing by Kings and Queens, who once could even pamper their guests with a thermal spring. In 1870 were places of residence of Prince Amedeo of Savoy and his wife Maria Vittoria and gained the title of Royal Baths. Then the Pa, after many decades, become one of the first marine clubs of the 1960s. Where they performed the largest complex (the band today) of the Italian charts (giants, Rokes of Shel Shapiro, nomads, Equipe 84) and all the best singers of the best youth. Today the Pa are still one of the bathrooms-symbol of Livorno. Things have changed, of course. Popular tourism has supplanted the aristocracy and the people of the Glitterati, the cabins and the horrible sticky pool, have distorted in part that atmosphere. When it gets dark, as happens in other establishments, it consumes the rite of "ribotta seamanship", meaning you eat (with table and chairs included in the subscription in the cabin) with the «stuff brought from home. " I went with my husband just because invited by friends. We went swimming, water was anything but inviting and for once, but I'll make no more, we all joined in the rite of "table". The dishes were good, just brought from home, but how sad!
