  • We can say that in recent years there have been several attempts to promote the place ... and definitely are worth noting. But how long could improve!! a space should accommodate exhibitions, exhibitions and bazaars all year doesn't occasionally:(anyway is livorno too.. especially this summer ...:P definitely more impressive even at night for a cocktail ...:) and stop getting in the Dungeon ... because it gives a point of view of the sea. absolutely ...

  • Sunday morning, spring day and the visit of one of the most beautiful places in the entire city! Sin is closed the donjon of Matilda that dominates the entire old town. The choreography and the environments are truly not to be missed. To protect my loved ones of Livorno and propose to anyone visiting, much is beautiful

  • Visit the old fortress is a must for those tours in Livorno. Nice walk along the walls, the view from the keep and a pleasant stop at the bar. In summer are scheduled many cultural and entertainment events.

  • A nice sea facing fortress, not very well presented though.
  • Livorno is a busy working port and there is little for the tourist here but it does have two forts. Fortezza Vecchia dates back to the mid 1500s and is close to the area known as Piccola Venezia, a small neighbourhood with canals. Sadly the fort was badly damaged in WW2, the townsfolk sheltered here during the war, but entering it via a tunnel through the very thick walls gives some idea of what it must once have been like. Hardly anything remains of the buildings but it has been turned into a park and gives the opportunity for a pleasant stroll and a view across the canal to other sites in the town

  • Perfect picnic spot.
  • An ancient fortress on the sea, near the port of Livorno. Cultural events of all kinds, including the recent cartoon exhibition "Labronicon". Should be more valued and better preserved.
