  • Another place of our beautiful Italy to see. Breathtaking view from anywhere you want to reach. Finally an awesome place that can be visited by all because there are no architectural barriers cleverly suppressed and invisibly. Absolutely worth visiting.

  • It's nice to get there on foot, first thing in the morning, when there are still a few tourists and get off walking towards the Hermitage overlooking the sea, and when you get there the atmosphere becomes very mystical. The building, built by the hermit Alberto Besozzi, is at one with the rock that surrounds it and the monks who still live there fill the lovely silence with their touching sacred songs.

  • Approaching to a place like this, a magnificent Hermitage overlooking the Lake, means not only "test" the physical but also prepare his soul to receive the message he wants to convey. Beautiful descent down a flight of stone steps (you can also use the elevator in the rock, for a fee, creating a pipe shaft well 51 metres). The original Chapel, dates from the 12th century, and was soon joined by the churches of St. Nicholas and Santa Maria Nova, whose existence is certain from the 14th century. Spectacular view of Lake Maggiore. Beautiful frescos and lots and lots of refreshment for the soul. Not to be missed!

  • Extremely beautiful place. Run by nuns, on the cliffs of the lake maggiore in varese province
  • This is a much smaller place than what I would have guessed from a brochure and the internet, but still a very nice half-day trip.
  • Monastery clinging to the cliff face, fantastic. Women please note it's a holy place so they expect no shorts and sleeves. Same as all the church's in Italy.
  • Really magical place hidden in the country side.
  • Amazing place over the lake. possible to arrive by car or by ferries. Do not miss the sunset!
