  • The itinerary takes in Lecco. The city is rich in literary memories related to the masterpiece of Manzoni. Nice walk from the neighborhood of Pescarenico, where you can see the little that remains of the convent of FRA Cristoforo, until Enolate, believed to be the village where Lucia Christmas promised you would be married and Acquate. The two districts contend the alleged "Casa Lucia". Above, on the promontory of Zucco, was located the Palace of Don Rodrigo, while a country road leading to Germanedo wants to indicate the place of the famous "stakeout". And yet in the Closed Ward, where he dwelt the tailor that welcomes Lucia freed and took the famous conversion of Unnamed. The fortress of the Unnamed is visible on a hill about 400 metres high natural in the hamlet of Vercurago. It can be reached through a path, also called "Via delle cappelle", cobbled and practicable on foot, flanked on one side by chapels reproducing, through beautiful statues, significant moments in the life of St. Jerome, on the other, instead, from a long line of trees. Once at the top you can admire a beautiful landscape and the weather is clear you can see all the beauties of Lecco until distant Swiss mountains. Must visit to Villa Manzoni which now houses the Museo Manzoniano which exhibits manuscripts, first editions, memorabilia related to the life and work of the writer. We recommend a guided tour through the presence of guides prepared, since the path is not clearly indicated by appropriate signage.

  • Just the route does not exist. We had to download a map from the internet and then try, try, try, because it does not exist any kind of indication. Yet it deserves and that would be interesting! Still I wonder: why so much neglect?

  • We took a nice walk from the shore of the Lake in the Park of farewell to the mountains along the Adda and penetrating in the alleys of the District of Pescarenico (and the Church of brother Christopher) has led us to the Centre of Lecco. Points are suggestive but you have to have imagination to "tie" to Manzoni since everything has changed a lot. Interesting!
