  • Porta Napoli, or the Arc de Triomphe, built in 1548 in honor of Emperor Charles V as a show of gratitude for the fortifications made make in defense of the city. Was built in place of the old Porta San Giusto, below which, according to tradition, rested the remains of the Saint. The door consists of a single arch flanked by two coupled Corinthian columns supporting a triangular pediment on which are carved the Imperial regalia with trophies and panoplies. The Central frieze appears, in Latin, the dedicatory inscription.
