  • This place of square shape possesses originality not to have that one opening facing the Cathedral, all the other parts are closed by palaces including the episcopal Palace. This is the masterpiece baroque of Lecce by the 3 greatest architects of the period between the 17th and 18th centuries. See at night with lights to appreciate even more the wonderful harmony.

  • In my opinion, the most beautiful piazza in Italy
  • The historic square of the city. In the square there is a statue of St. Oronzo and seat, primary monuments, together with the Roman amphitheatre, near the wonderful Church of Santa croce emblem of the famous baroque.

  • Impressive! My only regret is not being able to see how it used to be, namely with the fountain of winged horses. The bigotry of the time (1957) denied to our generations to admire the work of the brothers Peluso, deemed obscene by the mother superior (cause genital depiction of horses). Unfortunately we have to be content of historical photos ...
