  • Ride the litoranea salentina as passengers. Start early in the morning on the Adriatic, from Frigole or san Cataldo and descend slowly stopping often. Dine between Marina and Torre Vado and then proceed to san pietro in Bevagna or Punta prosciutto finishing the route at sunset. The ravages of ugly and unnecessary properties built between the 1960s and 1980s fail to turn the pleasure of your visit. You will find dirt on the docks and behind the cliffs, the sea is not always flawless, but will remain an unforgettable show. Pity the Salentini (to which I belong) lack pride of their homeland and not want to and don't know how to preserve.

  • The Litoranea Salentina is a vast territory and rich in diversity. You will not find anywhere a beach or a cala alike, and that's part of the beauty of the territory: white sand and turquoise sea shores, coarse sandy beaches and crystal blue Caribbean, Mediterranean, cliffs which dive, less large or isolated coves where you can spend days alone in peace or among people ... it could go on for hours. Not the salentino, but reading comments that do not correspond to the true they do pass the Salento as a dirty and Apulian territory as uncivilized people, I want to answer that: 1) in my one week vacation in Salento, where I shot so much, I didn't see more dirt than other places I've been to. 2) Salento in summer it is visited by tourists from all over Italy and beyond, then blame Apulian waste left only sounds absolutely unreal or just honest. That said however I think Governments should jointly prepare the most effective interventions for cleaning and storing of the beaches, especially those less easy to reach with the means, and especially "fining heavily" both locals and tourists uncivilized (who come from everywhere) that disfigure a coastal landscape so unique and beautiful which is a pride of the whole Italy in the world. Another important point is the improvement of the road network. Ultimately in my holidays I loved this area and I think I will be back soon.
