  • Forte Belvedere or Werk Gschwendt is always an attractive destination for people who want to know more about World War II.

  • the forte Belvedere was the Austrian army then made some enemies during the first world war, I visited dozens of sites related to World War I fina a kid when my late grandfather, Knight of Vittorio Veneto, artilleryman field heavy artillery regiment, took me to see the places where he spent years and many of his friends and contemporaries have left my life. For the first time I visited a site that was "the other side". Impressive the difference with Italian fortifications, the technology of 100 years ago of austrici in this type of construction was amazing, say that even today would look. The visit is highly recommended, if you have school-age children the subject definitely is centered. We we left a Sunday morning to make this visit by about 200 km but it's certainly worth it. Places around then are superb and if, as we found ourselves, is the right ones are enjoying amazing views from inside the Fort and also from outside. The price is very fair compared with the value of the site that you visit. Parking not comfy but the way is not strenuous and calmly even an elderly person or someone who has great mobility can do it without problems. Cover up when you strong in deeper tunnels entre is a pretty cool!

  • Should be opened but was closed, waited for half an hour...
  • As the only facility of its kind survived intact to the historical events that have involved is absolutely recommendable visit, than it is to do it by choosing wisely the best time to avoid being persecuted by cheerful families raucous, heedless of the efforts made by visitors more alert to identify themselves in the lives of military personnel who stayed in the Fort during World War I. Some of the multimedia installations, although still impressive, deserve a revision to return to their full original effect, however the main value of the visit is to gain access to a structure that is in its entirety the giant engineering war effort supported by the Austro-Hungarian Empire to defend its southern border.

  • Strong located on incredibly scenic location. Available outside tables in a small picnic area and a bar. Accessible by trail or by car but parking is not too close.

  • Well preserved structure that has a guided path that describes what was the operation of the Fort.

  • A wonderful monument to the fighting Italy-Austrian queue for 1. SV. war. Very realistic exhibits of contemporary objects, but simply great. Just a lot of monuments to the Filling. Legion of the years 1915-1918. I recommend for all of Czechoslovak tourists.
