  • Forte Belvedere-Gschwent it is the largest Fort and the best historical record of fortress warfare of World War I located in the municipality of Lavarone. Built from 1908 to 1912 by austro-Hungarian military dominates the Valdastico with its impressive and austere construction. The path to the entrance into strong winds over several floors. Historical path, reminiscent, interactive and multimedia. Reenactment of the stark reality that is war, but also photography, witness of life, pain, suffering, human misery endured inside the Fort from the poor soldiers. That in the case of emotional breakdown or insubordination were punished. The war divides, memory unites. The strong testimony and memory to warn future generations not to perform such horrors. The route then winds in tunnels dug to arms Pickaxe and sweat. Testifies to the fatigue and despair that could seize the soldiers. Despair over a grueling struggle continues exhausting. Experience all this inside. Emotion and infinite sadness you take then off to see mount the casemate. But then we reconcile glancing in the Highlands of Lavarone, Folgaria and Luserna. Inside the Fort there is humid cold. In the narrow underground tunnels, stairs to descend slippery. It is recommended for my view prudence and although instructive for children who have enough kids. Very informative video presentation. The 3D animated plastic. Howitzers of the sounds. The tales by soldiers.

  • Should be opened but was closed, waited for half an hour...
  • As the only facility of its kind survived intact to the historical events that have involved is absolutely recommendable visit, than it is to do it by choosing wisely the best time to avoid being persecuted by cheerful families raucous, heedless of the efforts made by visitors more alert to identify themselves in the lives of military personnel who stayed in the Fort during World War I. Some of the multimedia installations, although still impressive, deserve a revision to return to their full original effect, however the main value of the visit is to gain access to a structure that is in its entirety the giant engineering war effort supported by the Austro-Hungarian Empire to defend its southern border.

  • Strong located on incredibly scenic location. Available outside tables in a small picnic area and a bar. Accessible by trail or by car but parking is not too close.

  • Well preserved structure that has a guided path that describes what was the operation of the Fort.

  • A wonderful monument to the fighting Italy-Austrian queue for 1. SV. war. Very realistic exhibits of contemporary objects, but simply great. Just a lot of monuments to the Filling. Legion of the years 1915-1918. I recommend for all of Czechoslovak tourists.
