  • Visit to the Castle, with the guide that was really prepared. I booked the tour of the Castle, by calling local di Lauro Association "Prolauro". A beautiful day. We went to eat at Kipon, a restaurant-pizzeria-pub really excellent. We found d.o.p. products and exceptional beers. Tasted a good zeppole to pastry Saad, which we found in the square and had a great Laurino-liquor bar Norge. A bar that is inspired by Umberto Nobile and his airship, in this bar we learned it was possible to visit the Museum of noble. Found an interesting Museum. Thank You, Laurel! Will return.

  • Is the symbol of a country, our community, perhaps the core of an entire area. A well maintained and cared for, along with the historic district where it is located. An example of how it should be handled on our cultural heritage.

  • We had the opportunity to visit the castle during the Christmas holiday due to availability and valuable guide of advocate Colucci, President of the Association ProLauro, which the Castle knows the history, secrets and potential. EC described them all with great passion in an hour's visit during which we could admire the architectural harmony of the site and the taste and skills of those at the end of ' 800, on a medieval structure, realized according to the canons of eclecticism, a original project by Castle. With pleasant surprise we could verify that not always the eclecticism is synonymous to kitch, in this case translates into real beauty. An ancient Fishpond, a rich library, a church, a guesthouse, a massive room of weapons, a court, two towers, stables are the ingredients, which is privately owned but which you can visit, which often hosts cultural events, and that can be used for private events. A very nice place to be discovered which also has, among others, the great merit of discovering a hidden corner of a gorgeous region like Campania.

  • The castle is impressive but ... is all too rebuilt! The feeling of "false" is strong. Unfortunately once the renovations were not conservative and it was thought to "rebuild", maybe cutting down what little original remained. (After all, the castle was destroyed by fire in the first half of ' 700) Nevertheless it can be considered a destination for a tourist diversion as the Campania flaw of great castles and medieval structures still in good condition. Pros:-well-maintained-visual impact Against:-unpleasant effect.

  • Lancellotti Castle is located near the historical centre of Lauro, a medieval town of lower Irpinia. Built before the year 1000, has undergone various transformations over the centuries and the structure that you see now is the result of reconstruction after a fire in 1799 by the French. Currently private (it is owned by Prince Ladera), can be visited only on some days, after contact with the Association Pro Lauro (there is a website with all contacts). At the end of August takes place inside an event that draws thousands of visitors and that is called "Lumina in Castro", during which syndication scenarios that recall the times when Lauro had a predominant role in the whole area of Vallo, up to Capua , Principality which included in feudal times. Every year the era is different and you can enjoy performances with soldiers, Knights, wants in costume, theatrical performances and guided tours in the rooms and in the year are not accessible.

  • Magical place during the guided tour of the Castle. This is dramatized and making it usable and enjoyable. In fact, the presentation of the castle was made in period costumes from a group of boys of the village.
