  • If you want to know a city, you need to start conoscenerne its origin, its history; This applies both to citizens who live there, and tourists who would come sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose, or passing the trend research of small cities, towns, villages, less famous but no less important, as Lamezia Terme precisely; and visit the archaeological museum Lametino, can serve this purpose and also to recall Omar or better to build an identity of the territory through the traces of its past farther. The Museum is located in the monumental complex of San Domenico, carefully restored by the municipality of Lamezia Terme, in the heart of downtown, adjacent to the Church of San Domenico. The Museum houses many valuable artefacts found in Lamezia, ranging from the Paleolithic, whose finds, date from 7500 years ago, and were recovered in the area of Maida box; the Greek Terina, whose exhibits come from Greek colony founded between the sixth and fifth centuries BC crotoniati; and to medieval times whose exhibits come from some important monuments in the area of Lamezia Terme, including the Benedictine Abbey and the Norman-Swabian Castle.

  • The main advantage of this Museum-no tickets. Will suit all budget travellers. And exhibits here very much, we liked everything. Special interest-ancient household items.
