  • The Palace and gardens that hosts the Museum is worth a visit in itself. The gardens with stunning views are meticulously kept, the archaeological museum is a State of complete decay ... the pieces hosted are valuable testimony to an ancient past, but the set up is old and poorly maintained. The fixtures are falling apart, the ground floor seems to host a warehouse, some warnings for visitors are handwritten and only in Italian (disgraceful, given the large influx of foreign tourists on Ischia) friendly staff but for the duration visit the folks were sitting around talking, something I've never seen in any Museum in the world. having worked in a small municipal museum that has much less valuable pieces but is taken care of down to the smallest detail, there I was really bad because this space might be a little gem and instead is totally overlooked, but there seems to be no interest in do it.

  • The archaeological museum is very interesting, especially if the visit will add collaboration with one of the volunteers who normally officiate visitors, the exhibition is well organized and intuitive, very nice and scenic gardens. Last and very interesting the Pavilion of photos and memories of Angelo Rizzoli, important in the development of the island!

  • In the museum they have plenty of findings but a) all text for displayed items are only in Italian and b) the exhibition is SO old-fashioned... Most visitors would love to get some more information, t...  more »

  • Museum exhibits very interesting. Building without proper maintenance, shame because some exhibits (example material by Angelo Rizzoli) risk the ruin. But worth a visit interesting for pupils studying prehistory and Greek colonies.

  • Learn about the history of the island of Ischia, as well as the beginning of the history of ancient Greece, is something amazing and magical! The Museum halls are structured in a chronological number, in order to understand even without the help of a guide, and understand the whole exhibition policy as if it were a kind of journey into the past! Recommend a visit to the Islanders and tourists!

  • A place to visit to discover the early history of the island, which dates back to the "dawn of Magna Greece." Exist alongside this museum dedicated to the entrepreneur Angelo Rizzoli, which valorizzó the island in the ' 50-' 70, which is also worth a visit.

  • All ancient and modern history of Ischia is enclosed in this small but interesting Museum. In its halls lies the archaeological history of the island, the oldest colony in Magna Graecia in Italy. The exhibits date back to the 8th century BC, beginning with valuable Nestor's Cup, which is one of the oldest examples of Greek writing reached us, dated to the same time of the Homeric poems. At the time of our visit was also an exhibition dedicated to the figure of Angelo Rizzoli, big and visionary entrepreneur, protagonist of the development of the tourism industry of Ischia and architect of its claim as a destination lover of international travelers as well as stars from the world of cinema and culture worldwide
