Baia di San Montano, Lacco Ameno
(3.8/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
According to tradition, Santa Restituta, one of the patron saints of the island, first arrived from Africa at Baia di San Montano, a horseshoe-shaped cove. Soak up the sun on the soft sand, or enjoy a dip in the sea, which boasts especially warm temperatures due to nearby thermal springs. The beach is calm, and a safe spot for small children to enjoy the clear blue water and sandy shore. A snack bar on site provides cold drinks and refreshments. Parking and restrooms are available.   Work out when and for how long to visit Baia di San Montano and other Lacco Ameno attractions using our handy Lacco Ameno tourist route planner.

  • Very warm water, almost never waves, even when all other beaches, sea shtormit here remained calm. Unfortunately, in comparison with the last goal has become more crowded and noisy.

  • To tell the truth we frequented this beach in September, the space was really much, and perhaps even to its configuration, splendid (very calm and warm water) also in July and August if you do go there to enjoy it.

  • To access the san Montano Bay is in the territory of Lacco Ameno you must stop the bus to stop at the request of San Lorenzo after Lacco Ameno, walk downhill for about a kilometer and a half. Sandy Bay is beautiful, not very big, is located in the wilderness between two high cliffs, the impression is somewhat privatized from a nearby Hotel and in summer must be subject to a fee. still worth a visit for lovers of "nature sites"-In the vicinity there is a thick forest (dark forest) wood of Zaro, where popular local devotion sustains our lady appeared and still appears and send regular messages to the devotees, our Lady is called Madonna of Zaro. There is a statue of the Virgin Mary in boscoin scenic surroundings with a bulletin board, which displays the messages that our Lady sends every month to his devotees. the environment is the destination of many pilgrimages. . In the vicinity there is a message board ... box accessible inside some notebooks with handwritten messages of requests for Grace to our Lady of the devotees. I gave him a look of curiosity for some messages, requests for help for their children, husbands, to pass an exam, to have a boyfriend, it is apparent from these messages in General a request of consolation, relief, encouragement, support, a cross-section of faith and genuine popular credulita. that excites you, for humanity eager, anxious, suffering and huge confidence in helping and protecting of the transcendent. However, exciting environment and well worth a visit to see the traces of a mystical spirituality,. result of a culture that currently exists in our society.
