  • The museum has moved from the Fort to a new building which is very close to the Fontana delle 99 cannelle. The museum is very good and is a must visit attraction for visitors to the city.  more »

  • In a converted wash house opposite the fountain of 99 spouts, a selection of works kept in Spanish Fort, severely damaged by the earthquake of April 6, 2009. L'Aquila deserves to be reborn through the rediscovery of its priceless heritage, therefore I urge tourists to go there.

  • Amount of unexpected drug works. Filled with works from various historical periods, more or less known, recovered after the earthquake and remodeled. A true poetry for the eyes. Remarkable, also, the revaluation of spaces that were previously used as a slaughterhouse. Completely renovated, very interesting. Only downside: some works are not lit in the best way then, reflecting the light, are not fully appreciated.

  • After more than six from the 2009 L'Aquila earthquake, from December 2015 the works of the Museum, first hosted in Spanish Fort, can now be admired in the former slaughterhouse.
