  • A short distance from Isernia is this Museum, not very well known but well maintained. We took advantage of the evening open museums with free admission. You can see the area where the first discoveries about 30 years ago during the construction of the freeway that goes next and where I still work. The area with the exhibits already cataloged, including bone fragments dating back to about 600,000 years ago of animals that roamed these lands and if I understand even a tooth of a newborn baby. Tools to get food, pots, teeth of rodents, and more. Finally one last exhibition area with a reconstruction and explanatory panels of various historical periods that have taken place over time. Not equipped with air conditioning, we suffered from the heat in and out, hard to resist and be able to follow everything. Overall nice but honestly I expected more material.

  • Flavors, nay, more, in a well-structured framework that brings out the content, really well maintained and well cared for. Our history, our origins are "buried" there, in this wonderfully wonderful. To visit, Antonio

  • Small and modest, in a good way. Very nicely organized. A good place to stop by, with children.
  • I was really impressed and pleased by the visit of this important Museum of Molise. Beautiful reconstructions, a chance to see the archaeological excavation and bones of animals lived here! Well prepared the Guide, a young girl with a great desire to do and so much enthusiasm that has involved the entire guide. Is always a great pleasure to go back.

  • Well maintained Museum that takes you on a journey into prehistory with the help of educational panels and reconstructions. Well prepared tour guides who accompanied us in the oldest Museum in Europe.

  • The Museum is poorly thought out. Information Pavilion and is called this name reflects well the pretensions of the Museum. In captions (too long) there are many blunders and the English translation is very bad. Prehistoric huts are reconstructed in a summary fashion and not the impact. Very nice the part with the excavation of Isernia la Pineta palaeo-surface where you can see the fossil bones of many animals that lived 650 thousand years ago.
