  • This is my 1000th review on this site. Therefore I should rate something, which is very close to the heart. And this is Porto Maurizio, located just around the corner of our new home. The judgments on this page are quite different, where an analysis indicates that the German-speaking reviews ranging from "good" to "excellent", however, the only negative reviews are all from Italy. The latter in turn focus on the quality of the beach and / or of the port of Porto Maurizio, which suggests that it is obviously afraid to climb the Hill, get to know the local ambience. Because to the Borgo di Porto Maurizio, the Confraternita di Santa Caterina or to the Oratorio di San Giovanni Battista, you must the streets of the densely populated Hill climb around 100 meters of height and run around two kilometres - so something seems to contradict the interests of the "common" beach visitor. BB´s drum, in this way, the antipodischen interest groups out of the way go. Porto Maurizio we see Imperia old town on the Hill, so as is the name of the district in the South of the provincial capital, which is really very much appealing than something profane like a beach or harbour. The family standard tour usually starts at Piazza Goffredo Mameli and leads up from here on the stairs of via Giuseppe Mazzini and the broad Street via Giosuè Carducci to the Porta Martina. One crosses a fairly lively small business road in via Felice Cascione, and the after crossing via San Leonardo via the stairs of the Salita Chiesa Vecchia to the homonymous square (Piazza CV) with the wide via Parasio, where it goes to paradise quiet. The described ascent takes about an hour quarter of and rewarded with a magnificent view over the town and ENE and WSW of the whole Riviera dei Fiori. Occasionally there are signs that explain where it is located, what it sees and what is the historical background of the seen - an exemplary tourism information in Italian and English! Down you can back then stair ways such as via Fiume and via Gorizia directly on the sea to the cookies Spianata Luigi Varese and then continue on the Creek along the parking lot. This is a tour past at up to 900-year-old walls at its finest, which counts five to six times for the family in the year voluntary "mandatory programme'.

  • The pedestrian towards the central area (Zelný trh) is a place of charm, silence--especially in the evening-and wonderful views.

  • Really nice location, very relaxing in these last days of winter. The silence makes it feel more natural. The landscape is unique.
