  • Is one star enough? The food and service here are unparalleled and the dining room as special as it gets. I make it a point to eat here whenever I am in the Langhe.
  • spectacular location, with a view to 360 degrees, one of the most beautiful castles of the Langhe, surrounded by manicured vineyards and loads of grapes, among which we can wander and get lost for a few hours in complete peace and harmony

  • The castle is set in the langhe around Alba. At little cost (5-6 euros), you can visit the Interior of the Castle, which is spread over 3 floors: inside you will find the room of the count of Cavour, the Board room and other rooms devoted primarily to exhibitions about wine and territory. There is also a bar, a restaurant and a wine bar, and in the latter it is possible to taste local wines at little cost. If you're around for the langhe, Alba this leg is required!

  • Marc Lanteri al ristorante Al Castello di Grinzane. We ate here two nights in a row and had two very different experiences. On the first night the food and service was only average while on the second everything was pretty much perfect. I guess anyone can have a bad day at the office. Stand out dishes came from the primi section of the menu - gnocchi stuffed with buffalo mozzarella which came with scampi and red shrimp and a daily special of pasta stuffed with goats cheese topped with shaved black truffle. Try to make sure you leave some room for cheese - which is served before the dessert as it should be 😀. We shared a plate made up of 6 different local cheeses, in variety of styles, which was sublime. As you would expect the wine list reads like war and peace - all the big names and vintages along with some lesser known and more wallet friendly choices. My top tip to get the most out of the lovely dining room would be to request a table which has been set up to enable you to enjoy the stunning views (I found it surprising that lots of the tables are laid up so you have your back to the windows). Highly recommended (on a good night).
  • OK castle but there are many of these. There was a nice exposition on the influence of the original owner on viniculture in Italy. The objects in display where rather boring.
  • Nice panoramic view. Plenty of parking.
  • Great place, but was closed for dinner.
  • Very nice Castle, was the home of Cavour in the village where he was also Mayor. The restaurant serves delicious dishes very well presented, friendly and accurate service, excellent wine list, medium-high prices. Also of interest is the small museum. To visit
