Castello di Grazzano Visconti, Grazzano Visconti

#1 of 6 in Parks in Province of Piacenza
The stone towers of Castello di Grazzano Visconti rise above a medieval village and the surrounding countryside. Do explore the halls and stairways of the castle itself, but the main attraction is the castle's park. Spreading over 15 hectares (37 acres), the park is filled with an Italian garden, with dozens of plants and trees. Stop by the pond for a full view of the castle and gardens. • Just wish the Interior is not open to visitors. Visit highly recommended, truly magical. The drive is very competent.

  • Nice residential functions fortress erected by John Anguissola with his wife Beatrice Visconti from 1395, when Gian Galeazzo Visconti, brother of Beatrice, ne authorized the construction. The fortress is undoubtedly spectacular and elegant in its own way, both for the shape and arrangement of the corner towers, thanks to the skilful use of different materials such as stone and terracotta, which you have a pleasant chromatic effect. Magnificent Italian garden and extensive Park with many trees. Unfortunately this is the only part visible. To remember that the castle is the small church of Saint Anne, the only authentic element of the village of Grazzano, built from scratch in the early twentieth century.

  • We were there for a trip out of town to a medieval-looking village actually Grazzano rebuilt at the beginning of the century. The Castle, on the contrary, that was recently opened to the public has much older history. Historic home owned by the family of the Visconti di Modrone. Open only the yard and throughout the Park including the grounds truly beautiful. It is also rented out for weddings and other events. The visits are at certain times and with a guide. Recommended.

  • Visited the Borgo because the castle was closed. It's a pity the castles are not opened during the morning. However the Borgo Di Grazziano Visconti is a nice place to visit and you can also gave lunch there.

  • The castle dates back to 400, the rest of the village (little church) was restored/rebuilt in 900. During the year there are several events. Paid parking (outside the village), free entrance to the village, the Castle Park fee (though, not always open). Many shops, some that jar as untied from the atmosphere, others are more specific and well integrated. Possibility of dining in restaurants and bars, "". Inside there are a couple of small museums (surcharge). Suitable place to spend a day a little differently, especially when there are protests, but they get in your head that all costs, including the bathrooms.

  • Is fantastic and is self-explanatory why: just visit us! :) Sometimes a bit of a tourist trap ... would need a place where you eat really well, not the usual menu dearly for visitors. We accept suggestions if you know and if I find it the fifth star is immediate;)
