  • A sightseeing gem from the Romanesque era of construction. It is located here to the Church of Santa Maria del Tiglio (Linde = Tiglio), one of the oldest churches in the province of Como, which was built in the 13th century. It is located in direct proximity to the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie 15th century The two buildings form a closed unit on "holy ground", surrounded by green lawns and trees, directly on the shore of the Lake. The Church of Santa Maria del Tiglio, a purely Romanesque building, is made of granite and white marble built, who won from nearby quarries. If you step out of the sunlight in the Church, the visitors for a is moment faded, because the Interior of the Church is dark. Have get used to the eyes in the darkness, the beautiful simplicity of the Romanesque building is visible. Silence surrounds the visitor and the eye immediately focuses on the huge crucifix from the 13th century. Some remains of frescoes, oldest dating back the 15th century decorate the outer walls. Before the visitor leaves the building, still a small candle can be lit, because the proceeds from the sale of candles is used for the preservation of the sacred building.
