  • The shrine dedicated to our Lady of Loreto and in the Valley of the Elvo to approximately 810 m above sea level, is part of the devotional Marian shrines circuit including the Sacri Monti (Arona, Varallo, Oropa, etc.). The shrine, built by a local parish priest (Don Valance), was built in the 17th century to be completed in the next century and become a greater fame among the pilgrims. The exterior (in my most valuable element of the complex to pare) shows an impressive appearance with valuable orthogonal Greek cross Dome, while the interior retains some works fine as an altar in marble, an organ of the 19th century, the chapel of our Lady of Loreto and la bella Piccinardi blade. Outside, alas abandoned and/or little care, there are several chapels (4 adjacent to the sanctuary) belonging to the old location of the sacred mountain and, especially, the path that will lead you to the Colle San Carlo where, in the presence of good weather, you can enjoy a charming view and appreciation of an unusual phenomenon, however this only here and in the Grand Canyon in the Usa. In practice you can try yelling toward the shrine and reproduced by the ECHO will reproduce up to eleven syllables! Apart from the pleasant and beautiful views over the Valley of the Elvo, frankly the sanctuary than other similar places I wasn't overly impressed both artistically, and for an overall sensation of slight abandonment ... However it is to go and learn, also to discover the sights of the surroundings.

  • Beautiful building ... silence and meditation in every corner of the sanctuary ... deserving the pipe organ. All around you can do a small journey on foot lasting a few minutes but you'll be able to reflect and to have a view of the Biella area only. Nearby you can then see the echo hendecasyllable (curiosity do not miss) and from there you can climb towards San Carlo: path sometimes very steep but once you get to the church really lucked out that it's worth it! On the trail a few hundred chapels still exist! Experience!

  • Fantastic shrine dedicated to our Lady of Loreto and is twenty minutes from Biella. The Interior is very nice and well worth a visit. Also interesting is the organ.
