  • Val Venosta deserves to be visited for its magnificent castles, valleys that branch off, each with its attractions features (masi, marbles, fruit crops, glaciers etc.), but about halfway to the Reschen pass, the border with Austria, after designation for the Stelvio pass you will find the junction for the passo del Furlo-border with Switzerland-and only a few kilometres you will find Glorenza , magnificent medieval fortified already appointed City (the smallest of Tyrol) because of its strategic importance. In Roman times had hired value representing an important Center for the salt traffic (from Salzburg to Switzerland), was destroyed in 1500 and completely rebuilt in its present form with massive fortifications and trenches, still viable, among numerous towers and three large French architecturally interesting that served also to dwellings. Inside you can see massive historical buildings completely in stone, bass and huge porches giving access to homes from small wooden portals and delicious artistic frescoes on the outside walls. Worth a stop the square with a fountain, big old tree and benches to admire the different medieval buildings, one of which completely painted. Seeing through the streets from this branch houses of craftsmen and tradesmen with its colorful and artistic wrought iron signs. A relaxing contemplation of a beautiful village with the still air of an ancient time.

  • Glorenza is in my heart .... could not miss a visit to the Advent markets. Can be visited only in 4 days. Only local handicrafts stalls. At dusk the town lights up and down the streets moving musicians. Characteristic to visit
