  • Recently, I had the opportunity to visit the Museum which houses ancient fossils, I thank the geologist Louis S for the very interesting explanation. What struck me most was seeing live the paleo site, where you can see the fossils, where traltro were discovered, by chance, during road construction. An open air museum. Wonderful ... millions and millions of years ago part of Sardinia was submerged by the sea.

  • I visited the PARC of Gala with a group of friends and I must say that we are all excited about the visit, also thanks to the beautiful sunny day which allowed us to enjoy the walk up the Hill of Santu Antine and GeoPaleosito of Duidduru. The visit to the PARC is very interesting, both for fossils exposed, whether for the various reconstructions and schemes (very nice diagram on fossilization) illustrated by staff (friendly and well prepared). Discover the evolution of Sardinia, from its original home to the current one was surprising, because it never imagined that once, in the Miocene, the sea of Sardinia, they were real tropical backdrops (but today we have nothing to envy to the tropics:)) At the same time as us there was another small group with children who stavao doing activities and they looked diversitrsi a world (too bad that adults can not do otherwise I would have participated, too!). Very interesting also the ricostruzioe of the waterwell of Santu Antine place on top of the Hill and the outline of the stratigraphy of the artifacts found. We hope that the studies on well resume soon and that are carried out excavations on the archaeological site on top of the Hill (there is a bit of everything, from the complex to the Punic buildings). The GeoPaleosito of Duidduru for me was a real find: Finally i have seen with my own eyes what does read the stratigraphy and I could walk among the fossiliferous benches of a prehistoric sea. In summary: check it out, definitely worth it! I also recommend visiting the Geomuseum Stefano Incani of Masullas, looked just as nice for both for the little ones!

  • We came across this country truly by accident on a tour of discovery of Central Sardinia. Passing on the outskirts we notice a sign indicating the presence of a geological park. Taken by curiosity go up the slope of Mount s. Doors under which lands the country until you arrive at the gate of the Museum closed but with a telephone number. It is a Monday. ... are the 14:30 .... so not even the faintest hope that they will ever answer given that almost all of the museums close on Monday, leaving us Sardinians who we deal with tourism completely forgotten ... Call anyway. ... Answered by a very kind girl who offers to arrive by 10 minutes and so suuccede! It happens that opens a Museum for us: a beautiful structure very interesting and extremely helpful and knowledgeable guide explains beautifully the geological history between curiosity, fossils and nuragic history projects and discoveries in this area. I'm not saying well why is it worth to go and visit the site in person also to admire the view offered by a precious observation point offering a panorama exterminated. I therefore thank the kindness and professionalism with which they met and I promise to return with my children.
