Via Garibaldi, Genoa

(4.7/5 based on 1,500+ reviews on the web)
In the historic heart of Genoa, Via Garibaldi is one of the more ornate and grandiose streets in all of Italy, complete with stonework and vivid colors. Sixteenth- through 18th-century palaces with hidden courtyards and gardens line the 250 m (820 ft) long road. While some of these palazzos are private property, you can visit the ones with museums, galleries, and civil organizations. Antique shops and gift stores also dot the street. • I have to say that from now I frequently go through Via Nova (the original name of Via Garibaldi) it is only when I have a moment I pause to contemplate the Majesty of the buildings that have made it the pride genovese dal ' 500 to the coming of Aquarius (beautiful attraction but definitely second on Via Garibaldi). Of course there are the national galleries of palazzo Bianco and palazzo Rosso which are not to be missed (also x the Genoese), the splendor and magnificence of palazzo Tursi (Town Hall) but it's secondary palaces found the works in fresco and sculptures that will leave you more open-mouthed. Then browse, ask the gatekeepers of buildings if they give you permission to enter (many ground floors of the buildings are occupied by banks) and often already just walked in the front door you will find yourself with the nose up ' to contemplate absolute wonders, works of painters like Semino, G.B. Castle and many others who have admirably decorated these residences with a wisdom that in very few places in the world is concentrated in 300 meters!

  • Strolling nn can you not walk with the nose up '! The buildings are magnificent, very beautiful and majestic. Peering inside the various palaces are atriums. For those who enjoy a walk really worth a visit. Too bad it's short ☺ ️

  • The most impressive street in Genova, flanked by the most ostentatious of the Genovese palazzi di rolli. Better to visit on Rolli days, when most of these palaces are open to the public.
  • Incredible pallazi of which some (although not a lot) can be visited
  • The best old street in town, a lot of magnificent buildings on both sides.
  • Lovely experience. You can literally feel the history and greatness here. Well preserved stone palaces.
  • Street with monumental buildings. Get a guide or some kind of app to learn more about them.
