  • In fact if you are wandering around the Centre of Genova, pay a visit to medieval gates. It's easy to get to, especially from piazza De Ferrari, since you just walk away giving for 200 meters, namely via the East side heading towards a high building height and Empire, called "skyscraper" to find the "croesa" in genovese, i.e. the path made of red bricks in the middle and the sides, which sea pebbles in this case, passes in front of the House known as Christopher Columbus and arrives. In fact arrive until you cross the door, called uphill Soprana. The latter, is stone and in his medieval simplicity, represents Genoa. Once across, go down towards the Sea you lose yourself in the narrow streets, the famous "caruggi" of Genoa. Is a walking tour. Enjoy your visit to Genoa.

  • From Piazza Dante we climb the Hill Piano di Sant'andrea. Continue past the House with flags, where supposedly lived h. Columbus and cute tiny galleries-Colonnade, the remains of the Church of St. Andrei Hll century. At the top we see the Porta soprano, part of the fortifications called "walls of Barbarossa". In some versions, the name of the city of Genoa was the name of the God Janus. If you indulge in ancient history, he was two-faced, and Torri di Porta Soprano have two sides, the oval part of the towers turned towards the "enemy" and flat looks inside the city. On the right side of the entrance, we saw an image of Madonna, and with left-plaque where Sung military valour Genoese and warning for the enemy, something in the style of Prince Alexander nevskogo "who comes to us with a sword, the sword and die")))) 10/07/17 gate towers are accessible free of charge and explore the city from the height of this Hill, just try to log in to a family of Genoese because Gallery of one of the towers fits right into the apartment house!))))))) Do we need to see and visit!

  • This is one of the original 5 gates to the city and is located on the highest point of the road leading up to it. It is quite busy as next to it is Christophe Columbus's house and a Romanesque cloiste...  more »

  • It's a nice port in the middle of Genova. Many nice restaurants nearby.
  • Impressive to see these towers still standing after all these centuries.
  • Interesting and historical neighborhood.
  • One of the remaining doors of the old walls di Genova in addition to porta dei vacca. Close to piazza de Ferrari with the homonymous Metro station, you can access it (many steps). Around the door you will find the casa de Colón, the kiosk. Past the door we found in the center of the lanes, the heart of Genoa. Following via Rebecca (left) you will find a wide variety of bakeries, small shops, a delicatessen with typical products of Genoa, arriving in piazza sarzano, with the Museum of Sant'Agostino, the teatro della tosse, luzzati gardens and the Faculty of architecture (recommended to visit the Faculty's terrace which offers beautiful views in a small green angle on the roofs of the former monastery).
