  • Difficult to detect, squeezed as it is between the small streets of the old town, near s. Maria di Castello, left the Church, rises to 41 m this tower which was built in the 12th century by the embriaco family. It belonged to William "Mallet head", conqueror of Jerusalem and Caesarea in the 11th century and is one of the few remaining family towers and the only one who was allowed to remain high more than 80 Palms after that in 1296, was introduced a regulation which restricted family travel to the highest Tower. The Tower, enriched on its Summit by a triple frame of hanging arches, presents, for lighting, thin slits in the curtains and with his presence reminds the visitor the noble origins of the city.

  • I was walking around the streets in search of the Church of Santa Maria, I knew the Torre degli Embriaci was in the area, but I found myself in front suddenly ... a nice surprise! Strange to see a monument so ancient, adjoining municipalities homes! I'd open the window and in the morning you can admire a piece of history! Bella, if you can go see it

  • The Torre degli Embriaci is situated in the original building of the historic centre of Genoa. How many churches and attractions of the alleys, is not readily accessible (and believe), but in my view this area, the old town of Genoa, is the most beautiful part of the city. The streets in this part of town are incredibly less dirty, and also safer from a security point of view; the most desolate, climbing from Via San Giorgio in Via delle Grazie and then being in front of this old medieval tower in an anonymous and silent square, is a mysterious feeling timeless.

  • Historical building. Built at the beginning of the 12nd century. It is high 41 meters.
  • Probably the oldest monument still standing in the city. Magnificent and austere, too bad it is not completely open. Although, to be honest, this would be the Torre De Castro. The Embriaci is further upstream. At least what's left of it.

  • Tower wedged between city palaces, gorgeous and with a lot of history. Yes is in one of the oldest parts of the town. Unfortunately it is almost never visited, though I don't think there's much to see inside. However its location hidden seeds makes it really special and enriches the already invisible beauties of the worlds largest medieval old town.

  • Ancient tower of a powerful genovese family, austere, fair, full of history, wedged between the houses at two steps from the old port. To discover, not exposed, like all beauties of Genoa
