  • We tasted the ice cream of this historic home made ice creams in Genoa and were really surprised ... particular tastes and innovative, unique and sophisticated ingredients of the highest quality, perfectly matched each other. great tastes (but always with a touch of fantasy) and yummy tastes "special" ... blue cheese and walnuts or hunchback cheese and red fruits. delicious even the granite! Highly recommended!

  • Enter the historic chocolate shop Viganotti means, really, immerse yourself in the history of Genoa and, at the same time, in the history of chocolate. Already on the threshold, this combination is evident. On ancient showcases, exposes, real chocolate masterpieces. Masterpieces of goodness, sincerely, unique in the world. In other words: a must! A must-stop for anyone staying in Genoa or Liguria. For some time, then, just a few meters away from the historic chocolate shop, were also open pastry and ice cream parlor, strictly Viganotti. Two other main sights! I mean ... everyone, enjoy your meal!

  • Viganotti was primarily known for its chocolate and doesn't ice since 2014, that's probably the reason we speak more ice than chocolates, is still a novelty. For me with the Profumo Gelateria are 2 best Genes glaciers, to equal because they are quite different. Viganotti ice have complex perfumes of the alliances of fruit and aromas/liqueurs or, always well matched and that highlight. Pineapple and ginger, banana caramelized nuts, fruits of the forest with rum, almond with chunks of amaretti and also tastes of different cheeses (not tested by against), was delicious, and friendly!

  • I have been here for a coffee and I tasted a small Sicilian cannoli coated with chocolate. Pastry very good indeed. High prices (4 euros and 10 on everything). Given the prices I would expect at least a glass of water with coffee and dolcino.

  • Excellent quality cakes, especially the Bavarians. Costicchia, but it's what you spend.

Where to stay in Genoa

Located just steps from the city's famous tourist sites, Genoa's centrally located B&Bs and hotels offer comfortable lodgings suitable for all tastes and budgets. To avoid the expense and stress of driving and parking in Genoa's central districts, look for a boutique hotel just outside the city center. Staying out of the busy heart of Genoa is a practical and affordable compromise, offering a good base for exploring numerous fishing villages located along the coastline. Hostels operating in residential areas also offer private parking and easy access to buses into the center of town.
