  • It is interesting to see it although not as spectacular as other as other sites of the city, in general it is a city to wander aimlessly

  • This little square, at 2 steps from the central piazza De Ferrari, is a delight. It does not matter if the Church of s. Matteo (Romanesque origin but rebuilt in Gothic style) you'll find probably closed. The splendor is in the square itself, surrounded by medieval buildings of the Doria family which, together with the Church, make uniform style of piazzetta, silent, almost suspended in time. Even the parked cars do not ruin the atmosphere, since the square is occupied almost entirely by the raised churchyard of the Church for which you will find only a few cars at the foot of the staircase. The premises of the convent adjacent to the Church are used as homes/offices and this is also good, so you can explore the beautiful gothic cloister (entrance on the left of the façade of the Church).

  • The Doria family has in this little square the maximum the beauties and attention to architectural details.

  • Beautiful, just like the square in which it is located. Well worth a visit to admire the splendid frescoes and interiors.

  • Like the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, the Church of San Matteo in Genoa is an excellent example of the harmonious fusion of Mediterranean Romanesque style typical of this area and the new Gothic trends from France
