  • Huge square in part (side towards the sea) occupied by a large parking lot (on the surface and underground, too). I believe it is the largest square in Genoa and the feeling of vastness is made even more pronounced for the adjacent green area stretching between the square and the same and the Green square (in front of the train station Brignole) on one side and the small hill which is also held in Garden towards the sea side. The square itself is completely surrounded by arcades and typical architectural style buildings of the Fascist period. From here you can easily reach the Center (via XX settembre) that the fair (through viale delle Brigate Partigiane). Aside from the parking lot (certainly not beautify the square but is convenient for those coming to Genoa by car) there are at least 2 reasons to come here: the triumphal arch in the center of the great green rectangle which is located in the middle of the square (also dates from the years ' 30, erected in honor of the fallen of the great war) and the aforementioned Hill closes the short side towards the sea , on which there are beds of flowers that reproduce, among other things, the 3 caravels of Columbus. From the point of view propsettico the short side opposite the monumental façade appears to be closed by the Genova Brignole. Personally the square, although as mentioned part is occupied by a parking lot and cars and scooters are also parked on the paths that run through, I liked, if only for its opening, for the comprehensive and consistent architectural style, due to the presence of green spaces and pedestrian zones.

  • I live in Genoa since forever, but say that piazza della Vittoria is one attraction that seems a little excessive, yes the caravels are nice to look at, but the square itself has nothing to say, is now an open-air parking lot with one side dedicated to the bus. Some shops in the arcades and little more

  • For years I come to Genoa to visit and always step in this square to admire the imposing arco and the spectacle of 3 caravelle made in flower gardens behind. .. beautiful square
