  • Between the palaces of Via Garibaldi (ex strada nuova) this Palace still in private ownership is certainly one of the finest that have remained. The entrance with the background of the fountain is breathtaking. It is only partially open but makes it perfectly the idea of pomp and opulence that characterised Genoa.

  • The Palace was built between 1563 and 1569 by Bergamasco on behalf of Nocolosio Lomellino. The façade is one of the most spectacular of the street thanks to the rich stucco decoration designed by Bergamasco and created by Marcello Sparzo. Just walked in the door is a fabulous oval Atrium where the stucco of Sparzo to leave us speechless. Passed a small hallway you will arrive in the courtyard where rises the impressive nymphaeum supported by two huge newts that reaches the floor of the garden where there is another smaller nymphaeum communicating with the previous one. Go up the stairs you arrive on the main floor, where the first room survived only seven lunettes probably made by fratelli Calvi. In the main hall a great work of Bernardo Strozzi covers the entire ceiling to Center a nobleman (Navigator) who helps a young woman who personifies the Christian faith. All around scenes of hunting and farming Indians. The Astrological Hall with a large fresco of winged woman and the Hall where fragments are only visible parts of the frescoes. Too bad the second floor which is also rich in artistic treasures is no longer open to the public.
