  • Everyone knows that great Navigator Christopher Columbus was born in Genoa under the roof of a House called Casa di Colombo, his family moved when the future sailor turned 4 year House consisted of three floors on the ground was the workshop of his father, he was a Weaver. On the other were household premises. Unfortunately, after the French building was almost completely destroyed. It could recover much later inside a preserved piece of original walls. Poet everything you see is only a fraction of the ancient architectural structures. Sensations unusual, rooms quite tiny. The yard is located pretty Colonnade, where you can relax in the shade of the trees.

  • Beautiful to look at and it is exciting to live a piece of history but little there is inside so the outside view is more than enough.

  • The historical memory of the Italians is injured. Great native of Genoa was unable to convince anyone in Genoa to finance an expedition to India through the West. But he believed Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabella of Castile, the personality of a very reactionary, but expressed a remarkable intuition. The laurels of the discovery of America along with the body of the famous genujezca went to Spain. Christopher lies beneath La Hiraldoj in Seville (or in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic). Genoa was left only to find something related to his childhood and youth. Found a home. Problem House. Columbus House reminded me of old Odessa anecdote: "Hi, Rabinovich! -I'm not Rabinovich-well Yes, hair and eyes of a different color, he was 10 years older and 20 centimeters above. And the spitting image of Rabinovich! "and with the House of Columbus. The old bombed out French in 1684 c.e., then it was built anew by old drawings. Then in 1900-m because of the threat of collapse removed the 3 floors of 5. Yes and accurate belief that Columbus lived here, either. And the spitting image of House of Columbus!

  • It's a nice little experience, and I would recommend it as maybe a quick stop if you're doing a tour through Genova. However it is quite small, and so definitely wouldn't make a day of it as slowly you'd get round in about 15/20 minutes. But worth seeing for the beautiful outside, and probably a better experience for those speaking Italian, although still accessible for those speaking English.
  • Don't bother get in. See it from the outside, it's enough. Then book a flight to Porto Santo, Madeira and check out his other, bigger, nicer house!
  • A small but iconic memorial to Christopher Columbus, a man who left his legacy to the world.
  • Had some difficulty finding the place as there's insufficient directions and signposts.Would have liked to have seen more of Columbus' possessions and artefacts inside his house which was virtually empty.Although met by a friendly 'guide'-ticket seller, there didn't appear to be an audio guide available. However, a video in one of the rooms (giving a brief history) was. Verdict: Despite the experience of being in Columbus' home, l was unfortunately disappointed.
  • The house of the endeavourer of America?? Wow, it must be amazing... So I thought. But it's really not worth 3€ entrance. You go in and you're almost out again. A look from the outside us fine enough
