Cattedrale di San Lorenzo - Duomo di Genova, Genoa

See the sacred bowl that's rumored to be the chalice Christ used in the last supper at Cattedrale di San Lorenzo - Duomo di Genova. Most of this grand, historic cathedral was built in the 14th and 15th centuries, but a church has been on this site since the fifth or sixth century. • To visit if you are a guest in Genoa Council to deal with 340 steps (170 to rise and 170 at scendere...li made my daughter 5 years) to see the city from above

  • A typical Cathedral Italian with alternating of black and white stripes beautiful sculptures and some beautiful paintings on the altarpieces, although you have far. As in all Italian churches, be properly dressed, i.e. covered shoulders and bermuda to a minimum.

  • Beautiful. One of my favorite churches so far. So unique with the black and white marble throughout. We enjoyed sitting on the steps outside to enjoy our gelato after exploring the church - there was a local band playing traditional Italian music and we were swept away! Also really close to many other tourism attractions. I highly recommend!!
  • Gorgeous Italian cathedral, although there's no lack of pretty churches in Genova!
  • Wonderful church. Cathedral. Built around 1200. Very very interesting. Here there is a very beautiful treasure. Located perfectly between the touristical port and the historical centre of the town.
  • Beautiful cathedral in the heart of Genoa.
  • The outside is grand, unique, and lovely. However the inside was blocked off when we went, all we got to see was the view from the back door. It looked pretty but I wish we could have gone further inside...:-(
