(4.6/5 based on 1,600+ reviews on the web)
See the sacred bowl that's rumored to be the chalice Christ used in the last supper at Cattedrale di San Lorenzo - Duomo di Genova. Most of this grand, historic cathedral was built in the 14th and 15th centuries, but a church has been on this site since the fifth or sixth century. Gaze up at the ceiling frescoes, admire the statues of St. John the Baptist and the Virgin Mary, and discover other religious artworks. Visit the Museum of the Treasury under the cathedral to see the vast collection of jewelry and silverware from 9 CE to the present. • It's always interesting to visit the Cathedral of my town every time new details known. This time I also wanted to visit the Museum of the treasure and with considerable regret that I found out that the basin of Jesus is being restored and hence not visible. always a nice Museum that I suggest you visit

  • Very nice Cathedral located in Genoa City Centre! Can be visited free of charge, can be reached very quickly from the stop ' loading ' of line 9! Not to be missed!

  • Located between Piazza De Ferrari and the old port, the Church of San Lorenzo is Zena (Genoa) its Cathedral. Shows the typical colors of black and white line overlapping Doria found in many other artifacts (San Fruttuoso and Porto Venere just to name a few). Historical and architectural details you can find them on Wikipedia, but two pieces of information might be useful ... Put yourself in front of the Cathedral and climb the stairs to the left. Arrived at the height of the entrance door to the left aisle, at the base of a column you are looking for a small dog, who legend has it was Dang shipyard who would remember him so after his death. Inside the church there is a bullet in memory of English naval bombardamente. A spinner indeed, penetrated inside the Church crammed, but failed to explode .... What is this now though it is not the original

  • Beautiful. One of my favorite churches so far. So unique with the black and white marble throughout. We enjoyed sitting on the steps outside to enjoy our gelato after exploring the church - there was a local band playing traditional Italian music and we were swept away! Also really close to many other tourism attractions. I highly recommend!!
  • Wonderful church. Cathedral. Built around 1200. Very very interesting. Here there is a very beautiful treasure. Located perfectly between the touristical port and the historical centre of the town.
  • An old and amazing church, with two lions staying outside, maybe protecting the church!
  • The outside is grand, unique, and lovely. However the inside was blocked off when we went, all we got to see was the view from the back door. It looked pretty but I wish we could have gone further inside...:-(
  • It reminds me of Notre Dame cathedral in Paris but with only one tower. The interior is similar to Notre Dame. Spend some time on the cathedral stairs.
