  • Visit to the castle during the day exploring the historic homes of Italy. Special opening and free with possibility of reservation for four different times and access to groups of about twenty people. Our guide has been working for years at the Castle employed by different owners who have come and gone and knows to perfection the events and environments. During the visit, through his words, the journey through the history goes back to the time of the Scottish Aristocrat lighted Evan Mackenzie who commissioned the construction of this original Manor to architect Gino Coppedé. Access to the beautiful interiors and the wonderful caves of recent restoration learning, step by step, the restoration work in every single space in complete compliance with the original materials and choices. At the end of the path, we are left with a small gift (a brochure that tells the history of the Castle) delivered directly by Mr. Cambi, discreet and friendly owner of the auction house that has its home, happy with this experience and special welcome to us confidential.

  • We did not imagine you can visit in Genoa a place that held many surprises. The cave with stalactites and stalagmites, reproduced or retrieved from other caves, where once there was even a pond. The castle with private chapel is full of surprises with a few pieces of furniture in the original version. In past years it has undergone a restoration by the present owners who have not yet finished the work for resetting this little masterpiece. Being a privately owned, you can visit by appointment only and paying the entrance.

  • I finally got a chance to visit this eclectic castle on the heights of Genoa. Already seen from outside intrigues the passer-by but inside is even better. The large courtyard leads to the caves very impressive place before recovering and visit the floors of the Castle. Charming antique lobby main entrance with large tempera paintings as well as the staircase leading to the upper floors. Very impressive Gothic Chapel and the various rooms covered with paintings of various kinds.

  • Not what we expected. It's an auction house which offers tours by appointment, though the gentleman who gives the tours was nice enough to show us around despite our unannounced arrival. They are setting up or tearing down auctions 80 percent of the time, but if you hit it right you may get an impressive art exhibition. The "castle" is an 1898 Florentine mansion with heavy influence from Tuscany. It's quite worth the visit, and will continue to improve as restoration moves forward.
  • Bad personal experience with foreign exchange auction house. A written offer for a silver in auction was attributed to a different lot and the lot in question was awarded at a figure less than half what I offered. The House, against all ethics and commercial logic, has taken steps and still proceeded to initiate the award. This was my experience.

Where to stay in Genoa

Located just steps from the city's famous tourist sites, Genoa's centrally located B&Bs and hotels offer comfortable lodgings suitable for all tastes and budgets. To avoid the expense and stress of driving and parking in Genoa's central districts, look for a boutique hotel just outside the city center. Staying out of the busy heart of Genoa is a practical and affordable compromise, offering a good base for exploring numerous fishing villages located along the coastline. Hostels operating in residential areas also offer private parking and easy access to buses into the center of town.
